Health Care for All Illinois

HCAI's diverse membership includes physician, nurse, disability, labor, women's, consumer, political and civic groups.

HCAI was founded in 2006 in response to the need for public education and advocacy on behalf of a single-payer statewide insurance system for Illinois. Member organizations include the National Nurses Organizing Committee, Illinois Physicians for a National Health Program, the Health and Medicine Policy Research Group, the Cook County Nurses, Illinois Public Interest Research Group (PIRG), Access Living, the Progress Center for Independent Living, the Illinois Older Women's League, Metro Seniors in Action, Rainbow/PUSH, Illinois locals of the Service Employees' International Union, the Illinois Greens, the Illinois Progressive Democrats of America, Illinois Gray Panthers, Illinois chapters of the American Medical Students' Association, and the United Electrical Workers Western Region.
